Korea Expressway Corporation's Center for Smart Construction Technology signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) for cooperation on Smart Construction and future digital roads with the Center for Smart Infrastructure & Construction (CSIC) of the University of Cambridge, UK on October 24, 2022.

And a conference on smart construction, digital roads of the future initiative, CSIC's research, and activities of the Laing O'Rouke Center of the university was held.

The event was attended by 20 experts and researchers, including Dr. Sung-min Cho, Director General of the KEC Center, who visited the university, Dr. Jennifer Schooling, Director of CSIC, Prof. Camp Middleton,  Director of Laing O'Rourke Center.  And Dr. Phil Procter, Research Director of UK's National Highways also attended the conference.

In the letter of intent for cooperation, both parties agreed to continue collaborating in technology development, policy establishment, and educational activities to promote Korea's national program to develop smart construction technology.
